Seville, a city with a special color

Seville is a city that radiates joy and optimism because of the welcoming people who live there. It is home to fabulous monuments and interesting cultural attractions like its Cathedral, an imposing Gothic style building with Renaissance elements and impressive stained glass windows, and you can also visit the tomb of Christopher Columbus.

Another must-see in Seville is the Giralda, the minaret of the ancient mosque on top of which the Cathedral was built; go to the top for breathtaking views of the city. You should also visit the Real Alcázar, a set of beautiful palaces surrounded by a great wall built in different styles: from Islamic to Mudejar and Gothic. A curious fact about this place is that today, it is Europe’s oldest active royal palace.

If you like museums, visit the Torre de Oro, which earned its name from the golden reflections on its facade. It currently houses a Maritime Museum packed with fascinating history. And if you’re passionate about the world of bullfighting, visit the Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza; inside is a bullfighting museum with facts that will surprise you.

Seville is also famous for its excellent food and wine, and going out for tapas is synonymous with fun, a unique southern pleasure, an opportunity to experience all the flavor of the best Andalusian cuisine. The city’s restaurants provide a special atmosphere and its singular bars are one of the pillars of free time in the city – the city is, without a doubt, one of the best Spanish destinations to go out for beers (“tragos”).

In short, this Spanish city and its people, cuisine, atmosphere and climate have attracted an extra influx of international and local tourism on Easter, during the April Fair (“Feria de Sevilla”), which is an annual spring festival where the public comes together at a large venue called Real de la Feria, which is decorated with lanterns and features riders and horse carriages; the space itself is a perfect destination to visit on any holiday of the year.

We are certain that Seville will become your favorite city in a matter of seconds, and any time of the year is a good time to visit this beautiful city. A great advantage is that you have three lodging options in the City Hotels section on the website: Catalonia Giralda, a charming downtown hotel, Catalonia Santa Justa, with a swimming pool and mere meters from the AVE high-speed train station, and Catalonia Híspalis, also with a swimming pool and in the urban development area of Seville.
